Rough Cut Video and Feedback

This is a rough cut of our music video. There are still some blank spaces that we need to fill, and we are going to add another performance shot at the beginning and a pan of a landscape as an establishing shot to introduce the video. There is a shot while the main character is out with her friends and she gets a text from her mum; it is obvious that this is not filmed in the same place and this is a continuity issue. We will refilm that shot in an outside space to show that she is in the same place when she gets the text.

We have included the Samaritans helpline number at the end of the video, we got this idea from some of our audience feedback and the music video for 1-800 by logic and decided we would like to include it in our video. However, after doing some more research into existing music videos we have decided to remove it as it does not follow conventions.

We are also going to add an effect over the whole video once we are finished, to add a darker, grey atmosphere to reflect the main character's state of mind. This will then fade back to normal lighting at the end as the character comes to the realisation that she needs help. We would like for this to help the audience follow her journey through the video.

Evaluation Question 3

I used the Web 2.0 tools Piktochart and Slideshare to present my answers to the evaluation question 'What have you learnt from your audience feedback?' Through answering this evaluation question, I was able to reflect on whether I made full use of my audience feedback during the creation of my final products, or whether I could have collected more or used the feedback I had in a more effective way. Researching final products similar to yours is important but to rely solely on your own research and not utilise the opinion of your target audience may not have been the most effective process, as your target audience can tell you what it is that will attract them to a product on a more personal level that cannot be reached through research alone. I feel that I did use my audience feedback effectively, although I feel that it would have been useful to me to have collected more feedback from my target audience throughout the process of production of all of my final products. ...

Evaluation Question 4

I have used the Web 2.0 tools Slideshare, Powtoon and Piktochart to present my answer to the evaluation question 'How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?' Through answering this evaluation question, I was able to reflect on my use of technology throughout the process of completing my coursework. I was able to look at the progress I had made from AS to A2, and look at the things that I have improved on, as well as identify the elements that I still find challenging. My answers to this question will be very helpful to me when it comes to preparing for section 1a of the exam paper, which requires me to evaluate my coursework in detail and explain the differences between my work at AS level and my work at A2.
